- I live near Peniche and keep Jakatar at the marina. Peniche is perhaps one of the most colourful and authentic ports on Portugal's western coast. The guest dock is very wide and robust. Although the swell from passing boats can be annoying at times, the affordable rates and the charm of this historic town are well worth a visit -- Jakatar
