Sochi (Russian: Сочи; IPA: [ˈsotɕɪ]) is a city in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, situated on the Black Sea coast near the border between Georgia/Abkhazia and Russia. Greater Sochi sprawls for 145 km (90 mi) along the shores of the Black Sea near the Caucasus Mountains. Approach and Navigation

Danger: It has been reported that there are huge semi-submerged logs with 5 nM from the port.

Otherwise the approach to Sochi is straightforward.

As you approach Sochi, and are 5 miles off, hail "Port Control" at VHF ch 16 advising of you arrival.

Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)

Sochi is a port of entry to Russia. Upon arrival you should first moor (either Med or alongside) at the customs dock where you will be met by the authorities and/or your agent. The crew should not attempt to disembark before all the formalities are completed. This applies whether or not you are entering Russia for the first time or coming from another Russian port.

Notify the authorities one day before your intending departure. They will come to the boat, more or less, at the declared time to clear you.

Berthing Options
