A completely new harbour has been created to the E of the old facility, which it is intended to establish as a full marina once tenders for its operation have been received. Tekirdag is a new, commercial harbour on the north shore of the Sea of Marmara in Turkey, 67 miles west of Istanbul and 72 miles NE of Canakkale in the Dardanelles. There is currently no provision for yachts in the harbour and visitors here must find a place here alongside the quays wherever they can. It may be necessary to lie alongside a fishing boat at busy times. Shelter is good from the prevailing N/NE winds, although the harbour is open SW.
