The tiny harbour of Zavala is situated on the S coast of the island of Hvar in Croatia, two miles due N of the small island of Šćedro. The harbour is protected by a pier on the E side and a natural breakwater in the shape of a rocky spit on its W side. There is a good beach at the head of the bay, and consequently, the bay is ringed with holiday homes and its beach thronged with bathers during the hot summer months.
Smaller yachts can tie up on the pier here and larger ones anchor off in the bay. The shelter is good in all but S winds.
