Local Weather
Göcek is a relatively sheltered bay, although an unpleasant short chop sets into the bay whenever there are strong winds with anything south in them. This particularly affects Göcek Village Port, Skopea Marina and Göcek Municipal Marina, which are uncomfortable in these conditions. During the winter, when there are occasional southerly gales, most berths in these marinas are effectively untenable.
Also see Turkey.
Approach to all the marinas is straightforward, although berthing in the three marinas affected by southerly winds (see above) can be challenging. Marina staff are usually in attendance in such conditions.
Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)
Yachts can clear in at either Port Göcek Marina or Göcek Village Port, which will handle all formalities. For check-in see marina entries.

Anchorages
Göcek Bay
Göcek Bay is between Göcek Village Port and Skopea Marina. This is the most popular anchorage and offers good shelter in most conditions (although strong southerlies send in an unpleasant chop). Anchor in 5.0 – 10.0 metres in mud. The holding is very good.
NW Göcek Bay
It is off Club Marina. This anchorage offers slightly better shelter in southerly winds, but is deep. Anchor in 15.0 – 20.0 metres well to the north of the marina mooring buoys. The bottom is mud and good holding.
Poruklu Bay
36°45.34′N, 28°55.42′E
Poruklu Bay just south of the Göcek Exclusive marina. Anchor in 12-15 metres and take a line ashore wherever convenient.
In addition to these there are numerous sheltered anchorages in the six mile stretch between Göcek and Skopea Limani.
Offshore Islands and Groups
Twelve in all in the approach to Göcek and even more in the wider Gulf of Fethiye. Popular anchorages are at Göcek Island, Tersane Island and Domuz Island.
