Newcastle City Marina is situated between the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the Tyne Bridge in the heart of the Newcastle Quayside area and a short walk from Newcastle City Center. The marina has iconic views of the Tyne bridges, Sage Geteshead and Baltic art Gallery.

Navigation/Approach

The marina is approached via the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. The air gap at MHSWS is 4.5m. With the bridge in it's tilted position the air gap is 25.0m in the central span.

• When approaching keep a listening watch on Tyne VTS Channel 12

• Bridge openings can be booked by contacting the marina (contact details above)

• A list of planned opening times for the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is available here.

• Since the listed times may change without notice, it is advisable to book bridge tilts with the marina even if one already exists at the time you want.

Be aware that a "zip wire" that can be very hard to see is occasionally rigged for charity events ether

• West of the Millennium Bridge the Tyne Bridge north side to HMS Calliope (shore establishment) on the south side of the river
• East of the Millennium Bridge from the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art to the north side of the river
