Lindi has a small market located next to the central roundabout in between Jamhuri Street and the main B2 street.

Eating out

Lindi is not a place to look for a wide variety of international cuisine, however it is a great opportunity to sample the food that Tanzanians eat everyday as staples. Several restaurants operate in the city centre, and some more cosmopolitan eateries are starting to spring up.

  • Lindi has one bus station and all buses arrive and depart from there.

Give a short history of the port.

Places to Visit

The long white beaches are the main attraction in Lindi. There are several beaches located only a few kilometres out of the town, and the Lindi Beach.

Mtema Beach is about 5 km is the best location nearby for swimming.
