The bay of [[Loviste]] (also known as '''Uvala Luka''', of which there are confusingly numerous examples in Croatia) is situated two miles S of the headland of the same name at the tip of the Peljesac Peninsula. In the approach from the S, a yacht needs to navigate the numerous islets off the island of [[Korčula]] before rounding the long headland of Rt Osicac and heading NE for 1.5 miles into the bay.

The wide bay of Lovište lies on the NW tip of the Peljesac Peninsula on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, around four miles N of the island of Korčula and seven miles S of the island of Hvar.

It is a popular anchorage for yachts on passage between Dubrovnik and the islands of Korčula, Hvar, Vis and Brač. The best anchorage is in the NW part of the bay, although in settled weather, it is possible to anchor off or go stern/bows-to at the small settlement of Loviste at the SE corner of the bay.

Navigation

The bay of Loviste (also known as Uvala Luka, of which there are confusingly numerous examples in Croatia) is situated two miles S of the headland of the same name at the tip of the Peljesac Peninsula. In the approach from the S, a yacht needs to navigate the numerous islets off the island of Korčula before rounding the long headland of Rt Osicac and heading NE for 1.5 miles into the bay.
