Tuapse (Russian: Туапсе́; Adyghe: Тӏуапсэ) is a town in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, situated on the northeast shore of the Black Sea, south of Gelincik and north of Sochi. Population: 63,292 (2010 Census).
Tuapse is a sea port and the northern center of a resort zone which extends south to Sochi.

Caution: The approach to Tuapse is through a an area crowded by large ships. Also, there are several reef (charted) about 4 nM SSE of the port entrance.
As you approach Tuapse, and are 5 miles off, hail "Port Control" at VHF ch 16 advising of you arrival.
Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)
Tuapse is a port of entry to Russia. Upon arrival you will be met by the authorities and/or your agent. The crew should not attempt to disembark before all the formalities are completed. This applies whether or not you are entering Russia for the first time or coming from another Russian port.
Notify the authorities one day before your intending departure. They will come to the boat, more or less, at the declared time to clear you.

Either Med-moor or go alongside the ferry dock on the NW side of the port.
Warning: The ferry dock is 3 m tall and you will need a ladder to negotiate.
The shelter is excellent, all-around.
