Los Cristianos is a town in Spain with a population of 21,235 (2017), situated on the south coast of the Canary Island of Tenerife. Located in the municipality of Arona between the cone of the mountain Chayofita and the greater mountain Guaza. The town centre is around the Los Cristianos bay, but is rapidly expanding inland with modern development. The town is a popular tourist resort and includes a ferry port.

The harbour at Los Cristianos boasts 200 moorings for boats up to 20 metres in length and has a water depth of six metres at low tide. Among the services available are washrooms, a crane, dry dock, 24-hour security and a café. The harbour is usually crowded and it is hard to find room for a visiting yacht.

Transportation

  • The town is best reached from the southern airport (Reina Sofia). Its only 15 minutes far away from Los Cristianos and is linked by an extensive bus network
  • From the northern airport the region can be reached via the TF-1 motorway, which also passes the capital Santa Cruz on the way to Los Cristianos
  • Los Cristianos has daily connections with the islands La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro
