The pontoons are rather flimsy and are currently shunned (unusually) even by most local boats in view of the poor shelter in the prevailing wind.  While there are a few laid moorings, these have been installed by local boat owners rather than via any systematic effort and their quality is therefore suspect.

Approach and Navigation

There are no dangers in the approach. A large fuel depot just outside the W entrance to the inlet is conspicuous on the approach. However, at the head of the inlet there is a shoal patch with under 4.0 metres over it around 100 metres E of the commercial quay and a similar distance N of the town. It is unlikely, though, that a yacht will proceed this far.
