Welcome to CruisersWiki!

We look forward to your valued contributions to the World Cruising Wiki to help it grow as a useful, free resource for cruisers around the world. Now you are registered, you can set your personal preferences in My Preferences (link at top R/H of page when logged in). You can now also edit pages on the Wiki or, if you prefer, simply add your comments using the 'Comments' tab of the pages you visit. Please add what you can - even correcting grammar and spelling errors is a great help. Even if you do not contribute to a page, if the information is correct please add your user name and the date of your visit under "Last Visited & Details Checked".

Spend a little time reading the Style Guide and the Wiki Editor's Guide if you wish to gain a better understanding of the Wiki formatting and how to edit or create pages. It is easy to see if you are going wrong, since you cannot save your changes to a page without previewing them first. Finally, please read the Cruiserswiki Copyrights notice as well as the General Disclaimers (links at bottom of pages) before starting to edit.

We hope that you will contribute in any area where you have cruised. If you need any assistance, please contact one of the Wiki admins using their talk pages: User_talk:Atheneoflymington, User_talk:Istioploos or User_talk:Vadim.

Welcome again to the World Cruising Wiki; we look forward to your future support for the project. Istioploos 06:19, 28 August 2017 (BST)

-> My name is RickD. I live and cruise aboard s/v Adventure (a 41' Transworld ketch) currently in Southport, NC. I wanted to introduce myself first. I'm still working out how | this wiki works, so I won't be adding anything for some time. (Don't want to mess things up or make stupid mistakes).

Please go ahead and make changes. Either I or another administrator will make any needed corrections. This is the way we all have learned how to edit the wiki.

-> I have two questions: I noted nothing at all about British Virgin Islands on the wiki, map is inactive for that part as well. Is there a reason for this? Has no one entered anything yet? (I have cruised there before, in 2010 or so).

There is a page for BVI (http://www.cruiserswiki.org/wiki/British_Virgin_Islands). It would be nice if you update it. After you do so I will check your entries and also update it to the latest templates (just the format). We are on a long term campaign to do so and the BVI page has not been updated yet.

-> Second Question: I have an account on Cruiser's Log created a few years ago, and never used nor active with my same name "RickD", but the email address associated will no longer be any good. Does anyone know how I might retrieve my password from that site? (I don't want to create a different account there with a different name).

The only account I see under "RickD" is the one created by myself on August 28, 2017. I have no idea what happened to your old one.

-> We will be going to the Bahamas in October so I will look at perhaps adding additional, helpful information for that area, as necessary (and I'm able to do so) Please do add new information. have a great time in the Bahamas.

Hello... to anyone reading this page.

We did not make it to the Bahamas this past year. My wife, JoAnne became ill and we wound up back in Colorado with her undergoing chemo for the second time in her life for ovarian cancer. We departed our current location in September due to hurricane Florence, and were called the same day as our evacuation and asked to return.

We spent a week there getting set up, came back on a three week break and cleaned up Adventure, and prepared her for the winter. We remained in Colorado after returning there in Mid October until the beginning of April.

We're back now and working on preparing for a coastal trip, and perhaps a jaunt over to Bahamas for the spring, to return here in June some time.

My sincerest apologies for not working on the Wiki here. I hope to change that in the near future.

RickD
